SMF Forum.

I thought that since I started posting things I might as well mention SMF forum software package. I have been using ikonboard for a long time. It was something that was available and worked ok for me. It wasn't the best and it had it's own issues. It got to the point of where the software was pretty much abandoned and I started looking for better options. It was also when I was working with PHP so I thought why don't I try a PHP based forum package. After discussing some options with my friends and webmasters one of the things that stood out was SMF. So i went in and gave it a test drive. The conversion over wasn't perfect, but I managed to convert most of the posts into SMF. That was probably the hardest part of the whole experience. Once I spent more time with SMF the more I was amazed at how much better this software is compared to the old ikonboard setup that I was using before. I am still learning the ropes so to speak, but a couple of things that I love so far is the "admin" interface that tells me that there are security and other updates available. THere's also a ton of plugins that are constantly being added and updated. And after 3-4 clicks the software updates itself and I am up and running with the latest and the greatest. I am also planning on sitting down and fixing up the interface/theme to integrate a bit better with the main website design.

P.S. New update 1.1.4 just came out for those that missed it.
